Recruited outstanding faculty with significant racial and gender diversity.  Developed annual budgets and departmental strategic plan for clinical teaching and research missions. Served on the medical school Medical Practice Plan executive committee.  Secured two endowed professorships, three endowed lectureships and an endowed named laboratory facility.  Created a departmental alumni organization.  Developed two profitable off campus clinical centers.

International medical specialty professional organization.  Represents national surgical specialty in legislative, education, and public relations activities.  Supervise full time administrative staff and Washington DC based legislative staff.

 

PRESIDENT, AMERICAN BOARD OF FACIAL PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

National surgical specialty certifying board. Oversight of national credentialing examination.  Supervise full time administrative staff.

 

PRESIDENT, AMERICAN ACADEMY OF FACIAL PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

National medical specialty professional organization.  Represented national medical specialty in legislative, inter specialty, and public relations matters.  Provides national level continuing medical education (CME) courses, seminars, and symposia.  Supervise full time professional staff.

 

CHAIRMAN, National ENT PAC

Head up national medical specialty political action committee (PAC).  Oversee full time staff and elected board of directors.  Interact with US Senate and House candidates and elected officials regarding legislative and regulatory issues.  Head fundraising activities.

 

TREASURER, ILLINOIS STATE MEDICAL PAC

State medical political action committee (PAC).  Oversight of funding and expenses for PAC activity at state legislative level. Interact with candidates for state level offices and elected officials including state House and Senate.

Illinois State Medical Society.  Oversee full time staff activities (ISMS) and responsible for media contacts, publications and membership communications for state professional organization.
